What I Wish I Could Tell You is dedicated to my parents. I illustrate our emotional language barrier formed over my upbringing of distant communication and resentful avoidance, furthered by our tangible language barrier between English and Korean. Intersecting tentative identity, cultural ideology, and familial dependence; each painting explores an unresolved conflict through discrete symbolisms and storytelling.
